Defeat LD 505!
LD 505 will require restaurants to charge customers 25 cents per take-out meal. The bill’s goal is to restrict they types of containers restaurants, seafood shacks, pizza joints and ice cream stands can use to serve food. While the goal is to protect the environment by reducing the types of waste, it places a huge regulatory burden on our restaurant industry and puts the cost directly on you, the consumer. You will pay extra when ordering take out to cover the cost of the special take-out containers required by the bill.
The Environment and Natural Resources Committee voted unanimously that the bill Ought Not To Pass. Thank you to everyone who contacted the Committee opposing this bill.
